Hey chicas!  I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday and you are enjoying yourselves during these couple of weeks. Since spring is officially upon us, I figured I should post a little something on bohemian updos with braids since I have an enormous crash on them!

I know that, regardless of our endless amounts of time and effort on constructing a fancy updo, the opposite sex always considers this a "granny" look but I for one don't give a f***. Maybe we are just pulling stuff like that to impress each other, who knows? Either way they look great, so let's break it down.

I have numbered the updos above so that you can see them from different angles. I know it can be quite confusing, but if you pay close attention to the numbering you will figure it out, I'm sure. What you can basically do to achieve these styles, is experiment with braids, bobby pins and elastics. You can do it with your own hair, even with hair-extensions-as pictured above- and make it your own.
Section your hair and start braiding, while keeping the largest part of it with an elastic at the back of your head, twirling it and pinning it down. I usually pick advice from several Youtube tutorials and then work them in a way that I find more convenient for me. And trust me, if I can do it, you most definitely can too!

If you have any questions on that or any suggestions for hairstyles you want to see here, just drop me a line, and make sure to enjoy that lovely weather while sporting one of these gorgeous hairstyles.

Tribal is back

Tribal is back, big time; and as far as I'm concerned, that's great news! I always had a thing for tribal and hippie patterns on pretty much everything and now I can shamelessly flaunt them to the world.
In accessories it can be easily spotted as it appears in the form of feathers, egyptian and pagan symbols, spikes, beautifully coloured beads and gems. Everything is usually oversized hence loud, being a statement in its own right.
So get in tough with you inner godess; journey back and explore elements of ancient civilisations and  adjust them to your own style. Wear your hair in braids, experiment with different textures and patters. Gold, silver, copper, leather, feathers, rope.. each combination can give your outfit a totally different feel. Some of my favourite bracelets and rings depicted, if you see anything in particular that you like, drop me a line and I will let you know!

Bracelet Marc Jacobs

Due to serious lack of time, I am afraid that's all for now! Coming back next week with a lot more material.

Lazy Monday

Lazy Monday..

unfortunately what I really mean is "at least time-for- a-cup-of-coffee" Monday! It's nice taking some time and relax, especially in a place with such a vintage feel like Cafe 1901. An antiquary of some sort in my eyes, which takes me back to my grandma's living room. Old paintings, worn-out wood, distinctive smells.. plus a hell of a cappuccino!

Anyway, for the sake of this blog, a quick taste of some arm candy included as well.
Here's to a great week.
